Suggestions for long-term shutdown of cooling towers

　　When the system is shut down for a long time, the following operations should be performed.

　　The water in the evaporative cooling equipment should be drained.

　　2. Rinse the spray tank clean.

　　3. The drainage of the cold water tray should be kept open.

　　4. The adjustment bolts of the ventilation fan bearings and motor base should be lubricated. This item should also be checked when the device is first started after being placed for a period of time.

　　5. The water replenishment, overflow, and drainage pipes, as well as the water pump riser to the overflow outlet water level, should be wrapped with electric heating wires and insulation materials to solve the problem of residual water.

　　6. Check if the anti-corrosion protection layer of the unit is complete. If necessary, clean and repaint.

　　7. The fan bearings and motor bearings need to rotate at least once a month. After confirming that the cut-off switch of the unit has been locked and marked, the fan blades need to be rotated several times to check for any abnormal conditions.

　　8. Anti freezing protection: If the recommended small flow rate through the heat exchange coil cannot be achieved and the coil does not have other anti freezing measures, the coil must be immediately emptied once the system pump is turned off or the medium stops flowing during the ice season. The coil can be emptied through the drainage valves and exhaust holes on the inlet and outlet pipelines of the closed cooling tower. And the pipe diameter can ensure that water flows out of the coil quickly. This anti freezing measure can only be used in emergency situations and is not recommended as an anti freezing protection measure or as a routine operation. The coil should not be emptied for a long time, otherwise internal corrosion may occur.

　　Recommended maintenance during idle period

　　If the equipment will be idle for a period of time, in addition to maintaining all components according to the requirements of the maintenance manual, we also need to perform the following additional work:

　　·Rotate the ventilation fan bearings and motor bearings once a month. After confirming that the cut-off switch of the unit has been locked and marked, rotate the turbine blades for a few weeks and check for any abnormal conditions.

　　·If the idle period of the equipment is within two weeks to one month, the main pump, spray pump, and fan need to be turned before starting to check for any abnormal conditions.

　　·If the idle period of the equipment is longer than one month, the spray water tank should be emptied and the insulation of the motor should be tested every six months, and the lubrication of the bearings and mechanical seals should be checked monthly.

　　·Towers that are not used for a long time should be covered and protected.

　　(Note: Before starting any maintenance, make sure that all power sources connected to the unit have been turned off, locked, and labeled!)
