
Solution for Insufficient Airflow in Cooling Tower
Cooling towers are used for central air conditioning and industrial machinery cooling, achieving the purpose of carrying heat and dissipating it into the atmosphere through water air heat exchange. The quality of the flowing air inside the tower determines the effectiveness of water air heat exchange. In the case of insufficient ventilation in the cooling tower, the performance of water gas heat exchange is correspondingly reduced.
Identifying the cause of insufficient ventilation in the cooling tower and making targeted adjustments is crucial for the normal operation of the cooling tower and providing quality cooling services.
The loose transmission belt of the wind turbine power motor causes a decrease in the fan speed. At this point, although the motor is continuously providing kinetic energy, the efficiency of converting kinetic energy into fan power is low, the fan speed cannot reach the standard, the ventilation inside the tower is naturally insufficient, and the cooling efficiency of the cooling tower is low.
To solve the problem of loose motor drive belts, it is necessary to adjust the motor position, tension or replace the belt while turning off the working power of the cooling tower and stopping the machine. After adjustment, run the cooling tower again according to the normal startup procedure.
The fan bearings carry the rotation of the blades. In the case of poor lubrication of the bearings, the fan speed will decrease, affecting the ventilation inside the tower and leading to a decrease in the cooling tower's heat dissipation and cooling capacity.
The problem of poor bearing lubrication should be addressed by adding oil or replacing bearings that have been in disrepair for a long time during shutdown.
The arrangement standards for the inclination angle of fan blades are specified during the design and production process. During operation, if there is a deviation in the angle of the fan blades, angle correction needs to be made in the shutdown state to ensure the normal operation of the fan and achieve the design standard ventilation volume.
Damaged fan blades can lead to unstable fan operation and insufficient airflow. If there is a problem of blade damage, the fan should be stopped and disassembled, and the blades should be removed for repair or replacement.
Blockage of the packing inside the cooling tower can cause poor air intake and local airflow blockage, thereby affecting the water gas heat exchange performance inside the tower. Routine cleaning of the packing or replacement of damaged packing can quickly solve the problem of blockage and ensure smooth airflow inside and outside the tower.
