The installation of atomizing nozzles on cooling towers requires precise spray angles and uniform atomization effects to ensure sufficient contact with condensing coils or fillers and improve heat transfer efficiency. When installing, everyone can combine the nozzle type (such as centrifugal, direct) and system design to standardize the operation according to the steps, avoiding problems such as water leakage and poor atomization caused by improper installation.
1、 Preparation before installation
Selection verification: Confirm that the nozzle model is consistent with the design requirements, check the nozzle interface size (such as thread specifications, pipe diameter matching), atomization angle (commonly 60 ° -120 °), and ensure compatibility with the spray pipe and coil layout.
Tools and accessories: Prepare a wrench, raw material tape (or sealant), level gauge, tape measure, etc. If it is a metal nozzle, additional anti rust paint needs to be prepared (touch up the interface after installation).
System cleaning: Clean up impurities and scale in the spray pipe to avoid clogging the nozzle after installation; Check whether the pipeline installation is level and firmly fixed to prevent the nozzle from loosening due to vibration during operation.
2、 Installation steps
Interface sealing treatment: Wrap 3-5 circles of raw material tape evenly around the external thread of the nozzle (clockwise to avoid edge warping), or apply a small amount of pipeline sealant (be careful not to block the spray hole) to enhance sealing and prevent water leakage.
Fixed nozzle: Align the nozzle with the spray pipe interface, slowly tighten it by hand until it fits, and then gently reinforce it with a wrench (with moderate force to avoid thread slippage or nozzle housing damage, especially for plastic nozzles).
Angle calibration: Adjust the spray direction of the nozzle according to the design requirements to ensure that the atomization area covers the target heat exchange surface (such as coil, packing). The atomization range of adjacent nozzles can overlap appropriately but avoid excessive crossing and water flow concentration. If it is an adjustable angle nozzle, a level should be used to confirm that the angle is consistent, and the adjustment knob should be locked with a wrench.
3、 Check after installation
Turn on the sprinkler system and observe whether the nozzle leaks water (whether there are water droplets at the interface) and whether the atomization is uniform (whether there are water columns or uneven spraying phenomena). If any abnormalities are found, the system should be shut down and readjusted.
After running for 10-15 minutes, check if the nozzle is loose due to vibration and reinforce it again if necessary.
In daily maintenance, it is necessary to regularly clean the clogging of the nozzle (which can be washed with a soft bristled brush or clean water). During installation, avoid the nozzle from coming into contact with oil and mud to ensure long-term stable operation.
